The number of victims of bird flu in China reached 40 people. Another person who previously fell ill with bird flu has died in Shanghai, announced the local authorities on Thursday.
This now means, the number of victims of bird flu in China reached 40 since the epidemic’s beginning in February 2013.
The deceased man has been in hospital since April. He was the husband of a woman who died from the virus earlier.
According to one of the versions the deceased couple had a rare example of virus transmission from one person to another by close and prolonged contact. This is quite concerning that there is now a chance that the bird flu can be transmitted between humans.
